Valuation Rolls - Buittle Parish

The Ewart Library at Dumfries has four valuation rolls for the Parish which date from before 1884.  The earliest one to be dated is that of 1799, followed by one for 1803, 1814 and 1819. Although valuations for 1814 and 1819 are identical, the 1819 one includes what it refers to as the 'Antient Valuation', undated, but obviously dating from before 1799. It's used for comparison reasons, seemingly in an attempt at justifying the charges involved. This ancient valuation, along with several others, are reproduced here.
The Ewart Library holds a run of valuation rolls from 1884 to modern times, for almost all of Dumfriesshire, Kirkcudbrightshire and Wigtownshire. The Scottish Record Office in Edinburgh holds copies from 1855.
